Matted dogs
Removing a heavily matted coat includes risks of nicks, cuts or abrasions due to warts, moles, or skin folds trapped in the mats. Heavy matting can also trap moisture near the pet’s skin allowing mold, fungus, or bacteria to grow, revealing skin irritations that exist prior to grooming process. After effects of mat removal procedures can include itchiness, skin redness, self-inflicted irritations or abrasions and failure of hair to re-grow. In some cases pets may also exhibit brief behavioral changes. As the owner, you responsible for the condition of your pets coat and may not hold Shampooch Grooming responsible in the event of adverse effects of the mat removal. Extra fees apply.
Senior or Special needs dogs
If your pet has health issues such as arthritis or hip dyspepsia we will not force him to stand for long periods, this may affect the quality of the finished coat look. Senior dogs with high anxiety or stress levels may not be completed.
External Parasites
If you suspect that your pet has fleas/ Lice, please contact me in advance of your appointment so that I may take precautions. Sometimes we aren't aware of the presence, but if you know, let me know. It is expensive and time consuming for me if I find out too late that fleas/ Lice are present. My shop will need fumigation and possibly, other pets may need to be treated. If your pet is itchy, biting and licking please check for parasites prior to bringing them into the salon. If the dog enters the salon without knowing if these parasites are on them there with be a $75.00 cleaning fee added to the grooming.
Anal Glands
We DO NOT express anal glands. This is considered practicing veterinary medicine in Saskatchewan.

A:We accept Visa, MasterCard ,Debit and Cash. No cheques
Q: What is the significance of being certified groomers?
A: Like any industries there are good and bad businesses. We are not saying that uncertified groomers are bad, however you would never know since certification is not required to open a shop. Being certified means we have been tested and evaluate by a Professional and have shown to meet a high quality standard within our industry.
Q: What if I need to Cancel?
A:We must be notified at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled appointment. Leaving a message on the business answering machine is sufficient.
If you are more than 10 minutes late for an appointment, we can not guarantee that we will be able to groom your pet. If you are running late, please call and we will try to accommodate you. Please be considerate of our grooming schedule.
Q. How long does it normally take?
A. Most dogs take between 1 and 2 hours for a full spa session, however if your dog is particularly large or hairy it may take a little
longer. Dogs that have not been groomed for a long time may also take a bit longer, this is due to the extra coat and them not being used to the grooming process.
Q: What can I do to reduce my dog's shedding?
A: The best way to reduce shedding is through a professional groom. The big difference is the high-velocity dryers we use that blast loose and dead hair out of the coat. We can apply a de-shedding solution, Ez Shed and wash the dog twice with warm water, finishing it off with a de-shedding tool or brush.
Q:Difficult Dogs
A: Dogs that show a tendency to bite or jump around may be muzzled or attached to a grooming arm for his safety and mine. Dogs that are uncontrollable will be sent home and charged for the amount of grooming that has been accomplished. It is not fair or acceptable to force your pet to accept the grooming session.
Q:What kind of shampoo do you use?
A:We use a variety of different products to suit your pet. Some examples are, Natures specialties, Enviro Groom & Melanie Newman
Q: What is the Clipper Vacc?
A: The Clipper Vacc System is like a vaccum, a hose attaches to the the clipper and lifts the coat up as you cut for a velvety finish! While using the clipper vacc, blades never get hot, making razor burn impossible.
